Obedience at Skyline Family Fellowship includes meeting together and learning about God, His ways, and what the Bible says. During our worship services, this comes in the form of a sermon from the pulpit. It also comes through teachers in Sunday school classes and leaders of small groups. It also includes loving God with all our being and loving others as we also love ourselves. (Mark 12:30-31).
Our obedience is our right response to the commands of God. Jesus has told us in John 14:15, “If you love me, you will keep my commandments,” and in John 15:10, “If you keep my commandments, you will abide in my love, just as I have kept my Father’s commandments and abide in his love.” Clearly, if we choose to love God, we must do as He says. If we are not obeying His scriptural commands in our daily lives, we are not loving God. If we choose to be obedient and loving disciples of Jesus, then we must listen attentively to His words and instructions. We must then diligently seek to understand them and apply them to our daily lives.
